What about the Larue Iron Dot for your AK???

discontinued. LaRue no longer makes them as of early last year iirc, or even late the year before. I was hoping to have one but 'twas too late. Pretty pricey but reviews I read back then, owners were happy with it.

theres the ultimak and scout scopes methods.

I have the scout scope with a red dot, it's raised high enough so I dont see my fingers on the front handguard

I never knew about the LaRue sight, that looks really nice, I probably would've bought one had I known of it's existence.

Regarding the texas dog leg posted by voodoo... that thing has no rear support other than the recoil spring; I'm doubtful of it's ability to return to zero after opening/closing the dustcover.

We have another member who fried an eotech also no the same mount. Can't recall his handle but a search here should present it to those curious about eotech and potentially frying it. hence i kept my yugo at just iron sights for now since the larue dot is no longer available.

Sure you could. Might be a bit heavy and you risk funny looks at the range. Haha!

I'm pissed off that there are no simple reproducibly accurate ways to add optics or mounts to many Ak's, SKS, Mosin Nagant. Many rifles out there don't have the side mount. I have never shot an American rifle, but I totally believe they are more accurate. I have a milled Ak that I'd love a red dot on but can't. I'm not a gunsmith! I recently bought an SKS, and I don't want to add a metallic forestock, it's ugly, it'll ruin the look of it. Mosin nagant requires me to freaking sand the stock down and hammer a metal band around the receiver. My next gun maybe an AR-15. Jeez.
