AK single stack to double conversion question.

I was reading on a different fourm that Ak's made from 2003 till today have a wide trunion and that it is ok to convert to a double stack mag. And if it was made pre 2003 you need to mill the trunion to convert to double stack. Is that true? My AK says 1984 on it. here are some pics. maybe you guys can tell me if i can convert with out milling the trunion.

nope just dremel out receiver carefully til til the double stack fits. yours was built off a romanian kit. they don't use single stack mags in romania. those are for export only, should be originally for a double stack.

note that i said receiver, don't touch the trunnion, it should be fine

Looks like you're OK. This is a single stack trunnion.

I don't think it was made in 1984. I posted that question up somewhere and they said that mine was a new one, but that 1984 meant something else. I bought late 2010 from Henderson Defense WASR-10. Already has the double-stack mag well too.
