    Green in gas block?

    I was cleaning a buddys gun for him and in the golt there was green where the carbon. it is also inside the flash hidder. is this from lack of lube? i hardly every cleam my rifle maybe once a year i do it and i have not seen green inside it. i always run my gun wet with clp.

    if you were using a solvent with patches, you might have been clearing out copper fouling. i have some solvents that turn copper green when dissolving it. sometimes blue, also. at least, i think i remember its copper that does that...

      green/blue is from the various forms that copper has oxidized into, or been converted to with a solvent.

        This was only in the bolt and the flash hider I did not clean the gun at all so it was just the from an inspection. It was also not in the barrel

          Is there any way to provent this from happening? its a pain is the a** to clean i have found out
