    Steyr USR

Was thinking about getting one of these and wanted to make sure all of my assumptions were true. Since its off list, i could have it sent disassembled and either, a) fix the 10 round mag and load through the ejection port, which is a bit of a pain, but ok for me..b) remove the front grip and fill the thumbhole stock.
The OAL is 30' but i was going to get an add on muzzle break for a little extra length just to be safe. i hope one of the more experienced guys could lend some advice. Thanks.

Ive never really handled a AUG or USR, if the recievers are marked the same Id be carefull. If you want a OLL AUG the aussies have one and the recievers are sold at Sarco last time I checked....or you can put in for one of the USA made knock offs running around but I havent seen much about those in awhile.

Here a link to the USR that was imported for a small time. i believe the Steyr Aug is the only one on the list. It basically a AUG/a2 clone for the sporting market.

Ya, I believe the Steyr Aug is on the ban list but a USR is legal. I don't think they make 10rd mags for them so you'll need to modify 'em. They do have a AUG to AR15 mag conversion kit so you can use AR15 mags.

USR is good to go here if disassembled, mag-locked, or featureless.

I just put one of Radd's bullet buttons on one. (MSAR magazine lock + USR kit)

                    Good guns.

USR is a very nice rifle, and for some reason, I like them even more now than before, with all the post ban features. It's neat

My buddy has a AW registered USR and we have raddlocked it in anticipation of selling it eventually.(He is planning on leaving the USofA for good) They did make ten round mags and he has one! We are going on ten months of trying to get the DOJ to respond to his request to take the USR off his reg list. Lots of phone calls, registered mail sent twice with all documentation, it's been a huge joke so far but when we finally get it done it'll go up for sale here on CalGuns along with an HK Tactical & a Wilkinson Linda.
