MP5 Flashlight handguard on SP89

Sorry if this belongs in the pistol or the gunsmithing forum, I wasn't sure exactly where to post it.

Will the handguard on the MP5k(red background) fit my SP89(Tan/gray background) as well? Also, what if anything would I need to add the MP5 3 lug muzzle break?

No.

You'd need to have the barrel replaced by a competent HK guy, I recommend Ralph at RDTS

Surefire makes a picatinny rail HG for the MP-5k which should fit your SP-89. Just do not put a front pistol grip on it.

Well...So much for that idea...LOL
I love the look of the MP5k with the flashlight, and the 3 lug muzzle break but that sounds like a lot of money and hassle to make it work.

Not to mention anytime I think about shipping this gun to a gunsmith or even leaving it at a shop to have work done, I lose sleep worrying about my irreplaceable RAW disappearing

Surefire makes a picatinny rail HG for the MP-5k which should fit your SP-89. Just do not put a front pistol grip on it.

Thanks I have seen the surefire rail online, but have yet to see one installed. So I'm a little unsure if I would like it.

I've done business with Ralph, and wouldn't hesitate to ship him anything.

He works on some very high end HK NFA stuff, has for many years, and I've never heard of anyone losing a piece from his shop or in transit, if that's any help.
