    Uzi pistol?

Reading that guy's post on a Cali legal Uzi got me wondering: why aren't Uzi's considered pistols? They take a mag in the grip.

they are considered pistols if they have a under 16" barrel and no stock attached.

having the stock without the 16" barrel = SBR

having the long barrel on one with no stock = still pistol but why?

none are on the CA approved list as a pistol either.

But would you be able to bring one in to the state if you are a new resident?

The ability to grasp the fore-end on a pistol (handguard etc) is a prohibited AW feature. I don't think there's really no way to have an unneutered Uzi clone in CA.

The only chance would be for a clone of the MicroUzi. That's a pistol, and it's small enough that there's no foreend grasp area. I don't think there's anyone that made these under another make/model, they've always been IMI Uzi. There is a lotta handwaving that Roberti-Roos is not specific enough and this could scoot by but it's pushing it. Not worth it for a crap gun.

Micro UZI is listed plus. Can't have it. Outta luck. Next best thing: MAC

Why do you say a Mico UZI is a crap gun?

Why not get a real 9mm pistol with some accuracy and a decent trigger?

Once you've made that step, why not get rid of 9mm and go to 45ACP?

BTW, MicroUzi may or may not be listed. It's actually a defendable case.

this whole talk is interesting, ive been working on a mac 11/9 for a little bit, lack of funding for it has left it sitting but hopefully within the next few months it will be operable, i plan on taking the threads off the barrel and configuring it in a pistol way, (no stock no threaded barrel) maybe somethign else im forgettting.

Well I believe to the best of my knowledge that the Micro UZI is a reliable weapon and Israel still uses it to the best of my knowledge, so it can't be too bad. It is a lot better then a MAC.

In it's original design of full auto I would imagine 45ACP would have too much recoil.

Please explain your listed statement. I believe it is listed by name.

Semi-automatic would also be a good idea

Masterpiece Arms sells a MAC clone like that, with the threads already removed. In case you need to get any more parts for your build up...
