What branches use the MK 12 SPR?

I hear the SEALS and the regular Army uses it. Who else?

    US SOCOM uses it.

Navy SEALs are under US SOCOM. Regular Army does not use it.

It's slated to be replaced by the Mk 16 (FN SCAR-L). Initial shipments of the Mk 16 (FN SCAR-L) & Mk 17 (FN SCAR-H) to US SOCOM began late-spring of this year.

A civilian legal semi-auto version of the FN SCAR-L and SCAR-H is expected to be released to the public by Q4-2008.

To my understanding it is indeed SOCOM only. I have a friend that is (was) a Green Beret and his stories about using an SPR to clear houses and then tossing a can on it on the roof and using the same rifle for 6-700 yard shots was my motivation to start my 18" build.

Do you have some sources for that info?

I keep hearing the SCAR dead as a program - there may be some low-level individual unit-level purchases but not as a 'program buy'.
