AK Double, single stack. How to tell?

I'm thinking of building an AK but all of this double and single stack magazine talk I've seen has got me thinking.

I will be building a Romy G fixed stock AK from parts. I'll be bending an AK builder flat to make the receiver... how do I know if it takes single or double stack mags?

I tried searching but couldn't find a definitive answer

It will take "double stack" mags. The only single stack aks I have heard of are the WASRs and you can change that with a dremel and five mins with the mag well.

So don't sweat it, your ak will take both mags. Just do test fitting of mags when you are towards the end of your build. You might have to dremel some of the mag area to make them fit correctly.

The flats have "double stacked " size mag wells.
