Kickin Around the Idea of Sellin My Belt Feds

I have had for many years an M60E3 from US Ord. and an M60 from Springfield Armory sitting in the safe. Needing some possible cash to buy another house I am tempted to sell.
While I am very good at doing research, I have not come up with much on possible price to sell.....SOOOoo, I figured a post to start a gauge.

I don't have any pics, so just think Mint, You know what an M60 looks like and the M60E3 has the longer standard barrel not the shorty.
Now I have seen M60E3 kits on GB that are priced at over 5k...So I am figuring maybe 10k for the E3....

    Anyway....let me know your thoughts.

My thoughts are that i sure wish I had more money to buy that

Did you check gunbroker and see what they are asking for them (if there are any).

Personally, I would keep them. Those are the kind of guns you can't ever get back again easily (never in CA), but if you never use them, and you don't have the cash to feed these bad boys, which seems like the case, then sell them for top dollar and buy your dream home. The prices for houses are still really low and a house is a much better investment then a pair of guns imo, just be sure to treat your self to a nice semi/bolt/lever gun later down the road.

Ill take a house over a safe queen any day of the year. While guns are nice to have I rather purchase something that will have value and appeal to a larger audience if I ever decide to sell it. While having a belt fed gun has a "cool factor" I rather get a house.
If these guns are that rare and sought after 10K is probably a reasonable price. I would call some people who are in the know about these type of guns and they either have or know of someone who is looking for what you got. I say sell and buy a house.
Even though these guns are most likely a once in a lifetime opportunity to own for most of us, a house will by far outgun the return on investment a gun has to offer.

No i dont think you can put a bullet button on something that is not fed through a mag, but I guess you can only have 10 round pieces of belt ammo in them at one time ( I may be wrong ) i cant see any other way to fire them unless you have some specific license or registration that allows you to fire 100 round belt of ammo

well at first it was a joke. But now I am curious. If you have ten round belts, lets say, and the gun was semi auto, could you then have a 1919 without bullet button? Its not a mag that you release!

Here's just a parts kit, no receiver for $3k. Link to 1919a4.com

I could have sworn I've seen a couple of complete (semi-auto) guns on Gunbroker for around $6k.

As for needing a bullet button, you could convert it to an M60D with the spade grips and you should be good to go.

God, I'd love to add a semi M60 to my beltfed collection, but there's that damn large price tag always associated with them. And yes, you can have CA legal belt fed arms. Myself and a few other forum members have 1919s, M53's (Yugo version of MG 42) and even M2s.

This is a tough time to be selling them, I am guessing you might get around 10ea for them, too bad they are just simi's. I am guessing they are RAW's so they will have to leave the state too.

In Full Auto they might net around 30 grand each, good for a down payment at least...

Maybe in a Full Auto although I was looking at a FA M-60 last year for 30 grand.

I was told that on belt fed weapons you just have to make sure the belt never gets smaller then 10 rounds... That way you could reload it to 100 rounds or what ever you wanted...
