Manufacturers will always tell you to shoot nothing but factory new, brass-cased ammo, for liability purposes. That doesn't mean that everything else is unsafe, it just means that gun makers want to cover their asses

But they will tell you what to stay away from if it has been problematic - ie steel cased foreign crap.
The only thing that is worse than an idiot, is someone who argues with one.

cheap ammo can squib in a barrel, then the next round fired turns the gun into a grenade.
          Nice cutaway of an AR
          where are my pistol mags?

IE:wolf, re-loads,etc? Would hate to damage a nearly 3k dollar investment by cheaping on ammo, but not sure if thats even a concern.

Thanks for any advice/suggestions. I did research but could not fine definitive answers.
I have a custom built AR upper with a Noveske barrel built by MSTN. I use this for more than just at the range but am not a full-time operator either.
I have no issues with shooting the expensive stuff or the cheap stuff like Wolf. The only thing about shooting cheaper ammo is more cleaning is needed. Having a piston upper negates this to a degree.
The ONLY thing that may prematurely wear using non brass cased ammo would be the extractor but ammo savings are worth it in the long run.

Have you actually tried Wolf? I have in all of my firearms and it works fine. It does have a hard primer and one of my CZ pistols with a low mainspring weight will sometimes fail to ignite on first strike but that is my fault not Wolf. I even put Wolf in my *gasp* Beretta 92fs and it works great and hasn't worn down the extractor as some people have said it would.

I don't understand the snobbery in ammo purchases. The same people who say don't use Wolf will buy the cheapest ammo from Walmart and swear its *nearly* match grade but turn up their nose at Wolf.

If you search the plethora of gun forums for posts on Wolf you will find that people who have actually tried it don't have a problem using it. When the Walmart shelves were bare this past year or two I bought thousands of rounds of Wolf 9mm online and it was all good!
