Anybody on here use Danforth Gunsmithing in Riverside, CA? How was the experience?

If you want to be overcharged for shotty work, they are good to go.

Many years ago (about ten years) I took in a 1911 to have the hammer and grip safety replaced with aftermarket parts. When I picked it up about a week later, I took it home and tried to insert a magazine. The mag wouldn't insert more than a third of the way into the mag well. When I looked inside the well, I couldn't believe my eyes. They had reinstalled the components and the hammer strut was swinging freely inside the mag well!

The gunmonkeys (I refuse to call the fellow who worked on my pistol a gunsmith) hadn't even performed the most basic tests to ensure functionality of my gun before giving it back to me.

That was the first and last time I let them do any gunsmithing work for me. If you also have a 1911, I highly recommend Will O' Hara out of Corona. He also does Smith & Wesson revolver work. Super nice guy and a great smith. His number is: (951) 371-4971.

I have heard some scary stories about Danforths shop. There is another gunsmith not far from his place, called Merlyn Rifleworks. I go to them. Here is a link to their website:
