30 day wait period btwn gun purchases apply to rifles?

I want to get a Ruger 10/22 and had a firearm transferred into my name on the 13th. Do i have to wait 30 days to purchase the rifle? Also only a valid drivers license is needed correct. Is the wait period after purchase 10 or 11 days? A girl who works at big 5 was telling me it was 11 days but i don't believe thats true.

    Thanks for the help.

No 1-30 limit on rifles. Buy as many as you can afford.

The law is "ten 24-hour periods", but Big 5 has a store policy to make it eleven days.

long guns are exempt from that 30 day rule. You need a DL. It's ten "24 hour periods", but a lot of places just make you wait 11 days to be sure.

No, there is no "wait period" between long gun purchases/DROS.

Yes, some stores will make you wait the extra day because their employees are too uneducated to tell time

No need to wait 30 days for rifles or shotguns.
          Valid DL is fine.

Normally it is 10 days BUT Big 5 makes you wait 11. They start the timing of the DROS on the day after you make the purchase , I assume so they don't have to worry abuut the exact time on the 10th day you are allowed to pickup.

Also, it is one "dealer sale" a month.

You can PPT until your credit card is maxed.

Only one gun shop so far has let me pick a gun up on the 10th day after the time of DROS (Ade's).
They said come back blah blah after 11:25am or something. It was pretty cool. Tomorrow is my pickup day for a rifle somewhere else, but I have to wait until Tuesday.

Have anyone ever heard of someone being rejected for buying too many guns at one time? Over heard something to that effect but never believed it

You might get rejected if you tried to buy handguns from a dealer too soon(more than 1 from a dealer within 30 days), but that's about it as far as buying is concerned. If you want to buy a rifle a day for a month, they don't care.(your wife might once she sees the credit card statements, but that's different)

Never heard of it...9 handguns in one transaction for PPT is the most I've seen.

Also, you might be thinking of selling a lot of handguns through separate PPT transfers.

                      thats pretty much it.

Im sure lots of customer service issues pop up too, where perhaps customers bully employees to let the gun go a bit earlier.
