...have a 14.5in barrel shipped to CA?

I'm looking at buying a barrel so I can build a new upper and some places/people say they will ship to CA and some say they won't.

Is this just FUD from the people who say they won't ship to CA? Or is it really illegal unless I have my muzzle device pinned on the barrel out of state and then shipped in?

If you have a rifle it can be installed on, and no AR pistols - NO, you can't have it.

What you're dealing with is constructive possession. If you have no rifle it would fit on, then there's no issue with the ATF being able to say "you have all the parts of an SBR here".

If you have an AR pistol it could be used with, you'd be fine to possess the barrel. However, I've heard you shouldn't possess more short barrels than you possess pistol receivers. Not so sure that's a valid concern.

You can certainly have your barrel shipped to someone who has NO AR's, and have 'em hold onto it until it's been modded to have the FH or whatnot affixed, however.

if you have not rifle lower it can fit on, you are good to go. have it shipped elsewhere and do the easy mod yourself
