the SU16A is a fun little featherweight .223 semi-auto that uses detachable mags - which is pretty awesome but it has it limitations. Here are a few things that I would recommend -
First remove the crappy plastic front sight and replace it with the SU16B's metal front sight($50 from keltec).
Then get some USGI magazines.
Then check to see if your piston rod is properly staked to the bolt if its not it can cause a situation where the bolt smacks the back of the upper receiver and causes it to crack. If it isnt staked then send it to keltec and they will do it for you no charge.
There isnt much of a SU16 community here at Calguns but you will find that KTOG.org is great resource.Comment

For accessories, just get better magazines. You already found out the factory ones suck.
My only other suggestion is to get a different take down pin. Go to you hardware store and for about $3 get a 1/4" x 1 1/4" hitch pin then put a key chain ring through it. Or, go to takedownpins.com and get one of theirs. This way you don't have to find a bullet or punch to remove the pin. It just makes it a bit easier when you want to fold up the rifle.Comment

I like me su 16, that's where my reg cap mags go! But it does have a very sharp recoil from the bolt jotting the back of the reciever, makes my ar seem very softComment
