Was it ever available in CA? Is it legal to buy a used one that is already here in CA? Someone is selling one in almost new condition. I don't want to buy it if it is not legit. What questions do I need to ask the seller? What is the value for an almost new gun?

Well to start with, You are going to run to some problems since that has a pistol grip built in. I know that much since I wanted to do some mods of my own.
But there may be a way around it...the guys on here will usually get you straightened out pretty quick. good luck. 
(If you are lucky and the steyr isn't on any list you might just need a bullet button.)

Yes it is. The USR is not banned by name so put a raddlock on it with the 9 round mag that it came with and you will be set.

Yes it is Legal, all you need it mag lock and 10rd mag, also the it have to be over 30 inch long.Comment

The prices for these have come down a lot since the a3 came out. I recently picked up a usr for 1400 with a ton of goodies. Great rifle for the price and a made in Austria aug.Comment
