    Need help identifying a rifle

It is a .30-06 positive feed rifle. Below is a link to a album with pics of the rifle. I know there are other photos in there but it is clear what is the rifle and what is not. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Came across this from a family member.

Actually found a possible thread that explains about my rifle. Mine has the B with the crown but a G also instead of an L

It (was) a Mauser Standard Modell, an ancestor of the famous K98k, produced for export. Shame it was sporterized, if it was original it would be a valuable collector piece.

Not mine, picture from a Gunbroker auction

        Revolvers are not pistols

pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.

Appreciate all the feedback. I agree, sucks it was sporterized. Wonder why it was handed down to me without much hesitation lol. Thanks again to everyone.
