Next! Looking for input on my next rifle...

I know, not another one of these "which one is best threads". Instead I'm looking for people in CA who have experience with any of these following options. I'd like to get another rifle and I've narrowed it down to the following (in no particular order):

MSAR STG-E4 (AUG) 5.56 Primarily because 5.56 is a caliber I already stock and I'd like a bullpup rifle. Being able to use AR mags is a plus as well as I already have a bunch of those.

HK USC 45acp Carbine With a possibility to convert it to a fixed stock UMP clone. 45 is another caliber that I stock already, so this would be nice. Not crazy about the long barrel, but it is what it is.

PS90 or an AR57 Upper Assembly Again as a bullpup, but not sure about legality of the PS90 and not crazy about another ($$$) caliber that I don't stock. The 57 upper would be a backup if the PS90 isn't a possiblility.

So does anyone have any direct (California) experience with any of these, and if so, what did you like / dislike about them?

    Thanks in advance...

no fs2000? curious why not. this is on my short list, ahead of the e4... but of the choices given, the e4 is just too awesome not to play with, for me...

None of the above. I don't know what you already have but I would fill up my AR selection before buying an oddball plinker. The first thing that comes to my mind is a good target NM AR, then a M4, then a scoped HB AR, then maybe a 6.8 SPC. You'll get bored with the rest pretty quickly but a good shooting rifle is always fun to shoot.

      Thanx, Russ

I can get the PS90 Cali spec and legal and I think an STG also cali legal. I had a 5.7 upper on a pre-ban lower which is legal, however if you need a bullet button there is a five-seven upper that is cali legal with a bullet button that I can also get. The five-seven upper is pretty cool and I liked how the shells ejected down the magwell. I would have to check on the HK though. I might be able to get one.

Being limited to a 10 round mag with a 5.7 pretty much ruins the only cool feature of that round versus 5.56. And the ammo is spendy, I cant comment on a UMP/USC but I'd steer clear of the 5.7.

            How about an FN FS2000?
My FN FS2000 - Monolith Arms p90-styled forend, EoTech 553, and Wolf Eyes light.

I keep this one in AZ but they also make CA compliant versions

If I had the money I would get either the FS2000 or the MSAR-E4. If i come up with that kind of money anytime soon I'll buy one.

Thanks for the replies so far guys. The FS2000 isn't on the list because it's pretty much out of the price range for me (the others come in around $1500 AFAICT). That FS2000 with the P90 forend looks great, but I'm guessing it's ~$2500? Which is pretty much out of my range for now.

Yeah, the 5.7 is probably the least likely, for the above mentioned reasons (expensive ammo, another caliber to stock). But that FS2000 with the P90 forend is the best of all worlds, too bad it's so much green.

Looks like Rat Worx has the E4's for $1579 with a $200 rebate. I like the one from riflegear but they want $1599 for it. I wonder if the rebate is an MSAR corporate rebate or one that Rat Worx is offering....

Also, I'm pretty set on AR's. I'm looking for something different. I'd consider adding a .308 AR to the list, but I think most of those are out of the $1500 price range too, since I'd need a dedicated lower (already have an extra 5.56 lower ready to go).

My friend just picked up an E4 from Rifle Gear yesterday. We're gonna take it out this weekend. So far it seems pretty nice, the real test will be putting some rounds through it.
