Shot 50 rounds today with my fairly new Savage rifle and it seems the more rounds I fire from this rifle the better it gets.
The winds out there today was brutal, steady 13-15 mph and gusts to 25 mph. But I was still able to hit the red pig at the 600 yard mark about 60-70% of the time.
My reloads have the following spec:
Varget 25.5 grains
69 gr Sierra MK
.020 off the lands
PMC brass on its 3rd reload
Here is a 5 shot group at 100 yards:

and another one:

I may have flinched on that bottom shot because they were about to call cease fire..
I am also a rookie and this is my first bolt action rifle. I bought this at Big 5 with scope for just over $300.
I liked it so much I got the 308 also, I'll do a report on that next time.
