Bullet Button friendly ranges near OC

I'm am hearing Burro Canyon might not be that great (safe) on weekends (which is when I usually have time to shoot) - where else can I shoot a Bullet Button AR close to Orange County and not get hassled?
I decline to answer any questions without legal advice.
There is nothing illegal in my car, and I do not consent to a search of my car. Am I free to go?

I wouldn't say that Burro is unsafe. I have shot my BB gun (new term, lol) there a few times. Angeles range is nicer though (targets out to 600 yards), but not quite as convenient as Burro.

I don't think Burro is unsafe. I've seen gangster-esque people there, but they weren't really doing anything wrong.
      Mo' BBs.

While I wouldn't term Burro as "unsafe" - while at the handgun range watched a guy shoot through the shade structure accidently - I packed up and left. What if that gun was pointed towards me?

Lots of gang type members - but they usually show up after the hangover is fixed.(More alcohol).

          Got to Angeles IMHO.

I don't think Burro is unsafe. Sort of crowded, but I havn't seen anyone doing anything blatantly wrong or unsafe. There are some "thug life" looking types there, but if you talk to them they actually seem pretty nice (maybe just because everyone elses' guns are bigger than theirs ) Last weekend it sounded like a bunch of burst fire and full auto stuff going on, but I was on a tac range so I'm not sure what was up.

saying burron is unsafe because some people are assumed to be gangsters is like saying that all gunners are evil

comon we get judged on our hobbies all the time, maybe we shouldnt be so quick to throw that around?

there are idiots at all ranges who are not always safe.. but just because someone appears to be part of a gang does not mean they really are.

i dont know if you guys have ever noticed but lot of perceived gansgers ( shaved heads baggy clothes tattos etc..) are just marines..

              appearances are very deceiving..

although a guy did offer to buy my friends AR off him and skip the whole dros process

Burro Canyon will be friendly toward your Bullet Button AR. They don't care. The gangsters are cool too.

It's not that safe because they aren't enforcing the range rules 100%.
Fools at the gun table when others are down range is common.

Just have to watch yourself and be more careful. It is very easy to focus on a jam and point a gun down your direction.

Very true. I had a 20+ yrs old girl picked up the pistol and pointed down range while we were walking out to check our target during seize fire. I was not quite sure wether the pistol was loaded or not, but I yelled at her to put the gun down and step away from the table. Prior to this incident she was warned by another shooter not to touch anything on the table during seize fire, which led me turn around to check and there she was with pistol in her hands. She and her boyfriend left a few minutes after, probably was embarrassed. Other than some stupid people, it is a cool range to shoot b/c it only anhour away from my house, and no R/O breathing over my shoulder.
