Can you just attack a spikes fake can directly over a standard A2 FH or standard sized muzzle brake? Or do you need to remove that so that you can screw the fake can on? I wish someone like SureFire or one of the big suppressor companys would make a FH and/or MB that has a quick disconnect fake can

You have to remove existing muzzle devices to expose the barrel threads. Once the threads are bare, you just screw on the fake can. Easy as pie..

I kind of figured that would be how it worked. It is kind of a PITA in comparison to how nice guys with the the SF MB556K have it for when they want to attach the SF suppressor. QD and whammo it's on. I just wish there was something like that for a fake can. I can't imagine it would be hard to design. Nice to have. I'll keep dreaming.

I don't think the demand is there for them to figure all that out for a non-functional can... can't think of a reason to have it except to meet OAL for folding stocks. Even then, I'd rather give up the stock.

It is strictly for looks. The end of the barrel sits flush with the end of the can. While it looks cool, it is heavy as heck.

or you can spin it on the other way and extend your barrel (and extend your timing)

Why all this talk about how heavy the spike's cans are? They are pretty damn light. I'm not talking about the solid aluminum ones... the alum tube kind (SD-1).

Maybe some people need to hit the gym. They only weigh 6oz. C'mon you sissies... toughen up.

I've got another plain Jane A2 clone that I only shoot with iron sights. This one's just for fun.

Its not about hitting the gym. its about adding almost 1/2 pound to the end of your gun that does nothing in terms of added performance to the gun.

Ya, but most people go to the range twice a month, and lean the thing on the bench anyway. It's not for the stealthy serious shooter. But hey, if zombies come, - it screws off pretty quick.
