Guntests magazine did a review on it and 2 other .308 AR's, they gave the remmy an F!

The R-25 is an AR-10-config rifle that allows user to switch between 7.62mm NATO/.308 Win., .243 Win., and 7mm-08 Rem., depending on what type of wild game you want to go after.
Changing calibers requires multiple barrels. Just FYI...

        What were the reasons?

The Remy R25 is just a re-badged DPMS ARMS Panther LR-308.

I have the R-25, Its a great bench rifle. My accuracy is pretty nice with surplus and great with match ammo. The rifle isnt finicky for ammo and easy smooth shooting.
          I like it

have you looked into the Bushmaster ORC .308?

Its around $1300, and is essentially a DPMS as well, except it has a chrome lined barrel.

remington's AR rifles are the same as DPMS. they are the same. period. same tooling same same.
read a review on DPMS and it applies to the remington as well. good to go in my book. accurate and proven.

I think what every one likes is the hydro coating on the R series of rifles. It is cool and I personally like it.

However like a lot of people have said it is a re branded DPMS. Now like swerv512 says there is noting wrong with a DPMS .308. I have said it 100 times there .308 barrels are a lot better then what people give them credit for. You can make improvements though. A huge improvement is the JP lightened BCG. This part is sweet and drops the recoil big time.

You can make your own .308 AR platform for a lot less then $1500. Even with optics you can do it for that. Now once you get that done you can send it to a hydrocoater and have the same look but your custom gun for less.
