dpms 308 bolt help

i took my bolt apart to check head spacing and when i took the extractor apart there was 2 springs. i know where the bigger spring goes but where does the smaller one go?

I just took my DPMS .308 bolt out to check, IsaacGlass's guess is correct. Let me know if you need pictures.

lol thats where i ended up putting it. i was putting this upper for my cuzzin and this happend. i ask him where he think it goes and he said into the biogger but i didnt think so cuz it seems like it has any purpose being there. thxs guys
