I am thinking about starting to do some re-loading. What is a decent re-loader I can get without killing my account, possibly in a kit? I shot 80 rounds today and I didn't pick up my brass, I am going back in the morning to get it. LOL

Lee Classic Cast Press, will do anything on up to and including 50 BMG and it's brick $h!thouse solid. They make decent dies too, IMHO you can chase a lot of good money after bad when it comes to reloading. Just cause it's fancy and expensive it won't necessarily work any better.
If you're willing to spend a bit more the RCBS Rock Chucker Supreme is nice, but honestly it's IMHO no better than the Lee Classic Cast Press.
If you want everything all in one on the cheap you can look at the Lee Anniversary kit. It'll give you everything you need to reload excluding your die set. You'll toss and upgrade things as you advance (for better quality) but the basic O-Frame press it comes with is just fine.

I'd wait until somebody is selling their used press and buy that. They come up every once in a while and you can get a good deal on it with a lot of what you'll end up needing anyway. The RCBS is always a good choice imho.Proud to be a SoCal expatriate currently living in DFW, TX.Comment

Absolutely, 100% agree. Lots of people say Lee is @ the low-end (quality-wise), and I just smile & let them keep talking out their a**es, while they spend twice as much on the "greens, blues, oranges, etc.", and I STILL get more accurate ammo. I wuv me classic cast!!!!!!! Factory Crimp & Collet Dies are without peers, IMHO!Lee Classic Cast Press, will do anything on up to and including 50 BMG and it's brick $h!thouse solid. If you have the money, get the rock chucker. The Lee is OK, and may serve you just fine, but the RCBS is better. If you just want to reload for bulk rifle and pistol, go for the Lee. If you ever see yourself loading for precision, go RCBS. You'll get less runout (unless you get lucky and get a good Lee) on the rock chucker. On a side note, Lee dies can be quite good, especially their collet neck sizer. Good luck.GAP Team Shooter 5Comment

Ditto the Lee dies. I think they have even started making them longer IIRC. I ended up locking them on the bottom on my Dillon but I honestly like the Lee dies better than the Dillon ones.Proud to be a SoCal expatriate currently living in DFW, TX.Comment

I just bought a LEE Pro 1000 Progressive Press for .223 and the LEE Anniversary Kit, along with a electronic scale and tumbler and fixings. The .223 ammo is getting crazy expensive. I'm also going to build a 6.5 Grendel and want to load my own ammo. I've got some good shooting buddies who are pitching in. Hopefully we will be cranking out our own ammo next week.
Does anyone have a good recipe for 55 grain and for 62 grain .223 ammo?
