Triggers?

Whats the difference in all the triggers on the market . There sooo many to chose from. Geissele Combat Trigger - SSA, Geissele Enhanced Combat Trigger - SSA-E, Mega Tactical Trigger,Wilson Combat Tactical Trigger - 2 Stage, Wilson Combat Tactical Trigger - Single Stage and Timney Single Stage Match Trigger. I just dont get it. Im looking for a trigger for my LMT CQB MRP piston.
What should I be looking for in a trigger.

I have the geissele SSA on my AR 10 and love it, It's not adjustable but after the first stage breaks the second stage is very light. Great for a bench gun but I would not recommend it for a home defense AR, My AR 15's have single stage triggers made by armalite and bushmaster and function great. The AR 10 was a bear with a single stage and not very smooth, The AR 10 has a spring loaded firing pin and makes it a bear. Hope this helps a little

Thanks Jim, I am looking to put a trigger in my home defense AR. So a good single stage is what you want in for a home defense gun. Can anyone recommend something?

You can use a 2 stage on a HD gun. I do and so do a lot of people I know. I run the SSA in everything I have. It is good for target work but has full strength springs so it will not light strike. Also you can pull straight through (not stop on the second stage) I do this on the carbine courses I do.

Bill Springfield does some nice single stage trigger jobs that aren't very expensive. I have a 4lb job that cost $39, and it works great. There is zero take-up or creep in the trigger, and a very clean break. I think Bills website is something like triggerwork.net, but you can find it on google.

Rock River and JARD make very good and affordable triggers that are easy to install and adjust.

What should I be looking for in a trigger.

That's up to the user. I like a light single stage. Some like a two-stage. Others want a heavy trigger for safety reasons. It's mostly personal preference. If you are not sure, you want a two stage with a 5 pound total pull weight.
