    .308 SPS-Tac on its way

just pulled the trigger on an SPS-Tac today, and boy did it feel good!! Should get it at my FFL in about a week or so. I have been wanting to get back into a bolt gun for a while now, but never really had the drive to get another one until i pulled out the tractor and discs and made a 100-150 yard range on my father-in-laws land.

i plan on shooting with the "ok" stock until i get my range skills up to where im confident that i can get a closer MOA grouping. I will post up pics for everyone viewing pleasure... even though it will be just a everyday run of the mill remy when it starts its life.

Congrats on the purchase. That'll be my next purchase. What glass are you putting on it?

I just bought one and put a Hogue stock on it. Love the rifle, very nice trigger and fun to shoot

Go Nightforce. You'll be glad you did.

And don't skimp on the ammo. Quality costs.

              Good luck!

^ ya, i don't plan on it. sure for plinking around i want to have some cheaper stuff but im in the process of building up my supply of SMK 168 HPBT bullets, Lapua brass, federal gold primers and some IMR 4064 powder for reloading. i think that counts as good ammo

Odds are that i will go with NF in the end not only for the quality, but also for the different variants and sizes and magnifications

I moved to the 175 smk's after I ran the 168's for a while. The 175's are superior once you get beyond about 600yds. The only other bullet that will outperform them are the 155 scenars IMO. I also run IMR4895. This is all out of my SPS 308. Just my 10 cents.
You don't have to be a great shot to be a good hunter, but typically good hunters are great shots.
