Source for AR-500/AR-600 steel 12" squares local?

Where can I buy some 12" squares of hardened steel around Socal? Looking for 3/8ths ar500/600 hardness.

I DO NOT want pre-made targets at the big markup price. Just plain ol steel and I will do the rest.

Joor Bros. in Corona has it.

Also call IMS (Industrial metal supply) in irvine. Not sure if they have that stuff but you can always call. They open to the public.

Really? that sucks. I get steel and stainless from these guys pretty often, but I have never bought or priced any of the ar500. I normally just drive over there, grab what I need, and have one of the yard workers write up a ticket to pay in the office, I have never called them.

I have been thinking about making some targets myself, I might drive over there to see what they have. I'll post up if I find anything.

Another place that I have dealt with is KH metals in riverside http://www.khmetals.com/ They have had great customer service when I called them in the past, but I dont know if the have AR plate.

I'm typically buying aluminum scrap for odd projects, but I know they carry steel plate, so it'd be worth a call. I've never had any drama there, so hopefully they'll have what you need.

Just in case you don't find some one locally, I just bought from customsteeltargets.com.
Very good price compared to others online ... they ship USPS Priority so, go for max weight because they charge ~$20 handling fee. They do jam their 12" plates in the 12" USPS box. They do not have great communication but it is acceptable. Plates are good and primered. HTH
