    STG2000C VS IO's AK

    Hello to all.

I have noticed or read that the STG2000C rifles are made in Romania but the IO AK version is made in Russia. Is this correct and aren't they both assembled by IO, Inc. here in the U.S.???

Mechanically are they the same or different gas systems???
    Better made????

NOTHING produced by IO can be described as "better made".

    Google a little.

      -hanko,

Although I try not to google at work too much what little I've read is the STG2000 models are just as bad as the IO's.

Just a different look for the same thing. Stg has a shorter sight radius too iirc.

I don't think IOs are made in Russia.

            CSACANNONEER,

I heard the parts are made in Russia nd it's acutally assembled here in the U.S. if I'm not mistaken.

STG-2000C and STG-2003C are made in Cugir, Romania, they were imported as single stack, converted to double stack and made 922(r) compliant by IO in NC. Definitely no Russian parts involved.

I read on the Turner's website from a list they provided that these rifle will be droped and so for the price of just under 500$ I was thinking about maybe driving to one of the stores and look at it assuming they're not gone yet.
