    AK Eotech mount question

I just bought a James Maddux built AK from Tacfan and i've got one more week of dros left at metroshot. this is a pic of the rifle:

Question is: which ultimak eo tech mount do i need, style one or two?

AK Optic mounts for AK-47, Vepr, Yugo M70, Yugo M92, Saiga Shotgun, Krinkov, VSKA Trooper, RAS-47, M85, KP-9, Draco Pistol. Also: ACR-2 Modular Rail System.

I don't know f**k all about AK's so those who do please set me straight!

    Thanks,

Those mounts replace the gas tube. The only difference is whether they have the gas holes drilled in the tube. A tube with holes wouldn't be "correct" on a Romy build but the mount itself negates that aspect. They will both work and cost the same so it really is just a matter of which you prefer visually.

They do clamp onto the barrel so you will have to either modify your lower handguard or buy one of theirs which are already modded.

As the original gas tube in your pic does not have side vent holes, stick with #1 variant.

You may be able to use the included synthetic lower handguard with the Ultimak clamps. They usually have more clearance internally than the wood ones without modification. You'll have to check though...

This is half the price and probably more rigid:
We are the low-price leader for superior optics specializing in East European and Russian optics, binoculars, spotting scopes, rifle scopes, military and hunting scopes and accessories, red dot scopes, POSP & PSO military scopes, Kobra sights, side and top rifle scope mounts and much more.

That would only work if he had a side bracket on his receiver, get the ultimak or pickup one of these.

Here's what it looks like on a MMgripped Romy

front handguards move around too much. The ultimak is a true mount, it will not lose zero. Yes, its a pretty penny considering the kit was about 110.... but they work. Well.

The side rail is great for scopes, an eotech feels weird on the because they sit up so high.
