Before I bought a C-products specific 7.62x39 magazine, I could load and shoot about 4 rounds to shoot in a standard 10 round .223 magazine reliably. Load more than 4 rounds and you get feed issues.

Which upper mfg do you have? And what ammo brand are you using? Thanks

I can fit 3-4 7.62x39 rounds in a standard 30rd mag and about the same amount of 5.45 in the same mags; neither of them will feed properly either. Just get the right mags and go to town. The best x39 mags I've used so far are USA brand frankenmags and Daewoo DR-300 90rd drums.

The old C-Products 30rd mags didn't feed for sh1t, the new ones are said to be good, but I haven't tried them yet.

I had a model 1 sales upper. Shot wolf and brown bear ammo reliably, choked on brassed cased ammo, go figure. The 10 round 7.62 mags are great. Never used the 30 rounder, kind of awkward looking with the extreme bend in the magazine.
