    Thumbhole stock filler material

To you guys who have filled in thumbhole stocks, what did you use as filler?

More specifically, what filler did you use for plastic stocks a-la H&K SL8, etc?

I was thinking Bondo, but I was wondering if any of you guys have found a better material.

    Thanks!

    Bondo is crap.
Personally I like bullet proof stuff. West Systems microbaloons with a tabbing of light cloth, saturated with West Systems epoxy. Overall it ends up lighter than Bondo.

I used scrap bulletin board material, cut to the shape of the hole, to plug it first(I want to keep it light weight). Then filled the gaps and evened out the surfaces with all pupose putty from Home Depot. Finally sand down to finish.

Duramix 4040 & 4058. I used a piece of 1/8" thick pressboard to take in most of the space and the durmix to fill the gaps and to coat the pressboard.

In my case I just filled the gap between the stock and grip, but it's attached to the grip and not the stock. Duramix is a plastic filler that can be sanded and painted. I used the 4040 on the grip. And can be bought at auto body supply stores.

                here's the grip http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...ad.php?t=58679
