Daniel defense rear adjustments to sights?

Hey guys. A week ago I picked up my new ddm4v3 midlength and love it. I got 1000 rounds coming next week so I can sight it in and have some fun.

I bought the model with the rear sights on it "also Daniel defense" and it looks like there's a small hole and a larger hole on the sight "where you look through". Right now it's in the smaller position of the 2.

I'm just wondering how do you go about adjusting the rear sight? There's only a flat headed screw on one side that looks adjustable. Otherwise I'm lost.

Sorry for sounding stupid. It's my first rifle ever so short of the basics I know from handguns it's all new to me. Just excited to get a new toy.

Is this the rear sight you have?



If so you use that turny knob next to the aperture to adjust windage.

You turn that big wheel on the right side with the 5 holes in it. There's a detent pin that you have to press in order to turn that adjustment wheel. If the peep hole drift right, the bullet will impact to the right. Left and the bullet impacts to the left. The large peep hole is gonna be for close quarters and out to two or three hundred yards. You want to focus on the front sight post where it becomes crystal clear and the rear peep hole disappears. Your target should be blurry as well.

Great article!! In addition to this, order this tool: AR15 Sight Adjustment Tool.

The larger end will work perfectly on the rear DD sight, and the smaller end will work perfectly on the front DD sight (assuming you have the stock sight post).

use a bullet to push in the detent, and adjust either left or right based on where your bullet impact needs to go.
