u can own a CA-compliant AK47. its just a little neutered. 10rnd w/o pistol grip or use a MMG. OR go with the fixed levered mag. gotta work what we are given. i know it sucks.

Expect, US made Steyr AUGs to hit the market in the next year or so. That'll give you enough time to move out of the PRK.

yes, the STG 556 is coming out ~ and btw the AUG is not the best in the world.... if you look around especially with the Aussie experience with them, they suffer from heat ups, melts, jamms and cook offs....

If you really and truley want to know what is the best, look at the SF teams from around the world and see what they use when not hindered by political choices.... you're going to laugh, but they all LOVE the M4!! Granted my obs are from UK and Aus SAS teams, but they'd take an "armalite any day of the week, mate!"

Sounds like CA is not for you. Nevada or AZ is where you should have looked.

FWIW, never to have even held an AR prior to my buying one, I don't find using a MM grip to be a big deal; I actually like it. 30 rounders would be real nice but really, to actually own an AR in CA at all is a significant accomplishment thanks to Harrott and in part Calguns.net. And don't take this the wrong way, I AM NOT rolling over and taking DOJ's B.S., just enjoying what can be done currently.

ATTENTION! ATTENTION! You are in California now, but one day you may not be. How soon will that be? Will it be in the next 6 months or 6 years from now? Bullet button, U-15 stock, MM-grip, no grip, blocked thumbhole, completely disassembled, doesn't matter, you will have it in your possession NOW! And when you leave CA, you can build it in ANY configuration you wish, but even if you have just the receiver and nothing else, not even a single additional part attached to it, you will have it NOW!

I thought all pistols were "9 milimeter semiautomatics" on TV. I was watching a police chase and the criminal jumped out and was running with a stainless revolver.... sure enough the talking head called it a 9mm semi-automatic.... another time it was a similar incident, but the gun the bad guy was carrying turned out to be a BB gun, didnt stop it from being called a 9mm semiautomatic though. cnn just did a piece on the whole "evil 9mm semiautomatic" and there was a newsweek article about the same thing....WTF is wrong with these people?
