No. I am lucky to still have all my finger after my former bosses reloads blew up a J frame revolver in my hand. Split the cylinder in two and blew the top strap off.Comment

Quite the opposite with me. My friends and relative shoots my reloads. Reloads I give them are time tested and same one's I use for my guns. They know I'm anal with my reloads in terms of quality.
Now to the orginal question, I would establish a "trust" with that particular person's reload before I would shoot it.Comment

I thought long and hard about how to respond to this thread and something happened last night that solidified it for me.
If I knew someone was standing behind their ammo and I could call them if I had a problem and they would fix it, then yes, I would.Comment

No.
It would involve a level of trust that I don't see as worth the effort or risk, because all my rifles/pistol can shoot steel cased no problem and I don't ever go anywhere with magnetic projectile restrictions.Comment

The only time I shot reloads were when this guy at the gun show called "sheep dog ammo" convinced me that wolf was garbage, and his .223 was all hand loaded by him personally and top quality and so much better then name brand expensive ammo ect ect
I shot a few rounds and one of the brass exploded in the chamber. Scared the living crap outa me. No damage to the gun or me. And I went about my day at the range
Im assuming he used old used brass that had been reloaded too many times. And just coulda handle anymore pressure through it. My friend also purchased 500 rnds of his stuff, and the accuracy was really horrible compared to other off the shelf ammo.
My dad also used a friends .45 reload for the first time, and one exploded and made his barrel have a dent in it.Last edited by xxINKxx; 09-21-2010, 3:44 PM."If a law is unjust, a man is not only right to disobey it, he is obligated to do so." - Thomas JeffersonComment

F$ck no! When a reload of my own went OOB battery because of a primer that wasnt fully seated, I realized how legit this hobby was. Talk about a new upper! You MUST(per me) check every single reloaded round, numerous times throughout the reloading process to ensure that its a safe round. Not to mention weighing each load of powder, ect... I would never shoot anyone elses reloads, other than Black Hills. For some reason, I just only trust them.
I did shoot 400 or 500 of that accurate ammo guy's stuff with zero maulfunctions. I would not do that again though. Hes pumping out alot of ammo and thats usually when you have problems.
I have read about 1.5 billion threads of guns blowing up.... all from reloads, even miwall.
Screw that. This is your life and the others around you that we are talking here. Dont shoot others reloads!Comment
