Need help diagnosing an AR15 problem.

I'm currently experiencing random burst fire events after ~100 have been fired from my AR15. The gun is almost too hot to handle around the time this occurs (desert sun will do that). In addition to this sometimes the trigger will lock up as if the safety is engaged. I have to release the take down pin and manually release the trigger from the locked position through some random movements.

The upper and LPK are made by DPMS.

I would first call up DPMS and tell them your trigger is just going on burst fire frequently. They will likely tell you to immediately remove the trigger control group and that they will send you a new one.... Most likely that will solve the problem.

The disconnector spring is upside down. the fat side goes inside the tray, the skinny side goes up to the disconnector.

Check this first. The larger end of the disconnector spring should be on the bottom.
