    Which AK??

I know little about AK's but am interested in joining the club. What is the best quality AK avalible that is off the list. DD's ranch has the Russian American Armory Co., Ten Percent had another variation. Not interesting in building, just a complete rifle with no pistol grip. Thanks in advance. Sammy

IMO I think the best are the off list Arsenals.

The BEST off list AK? I saw an Arsenal Inc. AK recently and it looked like a rifle HK or SIG would have built. Now the Robinson Armament VEPRs are exceptional rifles, and most everyone will say THOSE are the best off-list AKs hands down - they really are beautifully made - but in my opinion, I thought the milled receiver Arseneal Inc. AK was better built than the VEPRs that I saw a SHOT a few years ago. Additionally, RA VEPRs are hard to come by right now since RA is concentrating production and marketing on their XCR. When you find VEPRs on gun auction sites, it's always being sold by someone absolutely reticent of CA.

But the milled receiver Arsenal Inc AK I saw really was the nicest off-list AK I had ever seen, and it had a milled receiver to boot. Others have said the AZEX are the best after the VEPRs, but I have yet to see one in person.

              just did a quick search

Wow, it's not often you see a vendor listing the MSRP and having it be less than their price

OK, but their price at $930 is excellent. That is one of the lowest I've seen. Why? Because Arsenal Inc. has stopped making milled receivers and is starting a line of stamped receivers, so be the rumor I last I heard. The milled versions are going anywhere from $1000 to $1200 . I'm willing to bet that MSRP is from a while ago and stuck.

                    Not so bad afterall.

Arsenal are probably the best.....the offlist variety will probably be more available in the fall.......

I have a few of the SLRs in inventory...they are very nice rifles...

All new rifles that come out of Arsenal will be stamped so if you want a milled one grab it while you can......

VEPRS are nice and AZEXs look like a new HK.....IMHO.....

Naturally, I own ARSENAL and AZEX......

We have a few Sierra Arms and Special Interest AKs, not as nice as the AZEX but are on US Armory rcvrs and romy kits w/ lifetime warranty as well.........these are good looking guns, more of just a std park finish....

Than there are the WASRs.....kinda in a class of their own, they do shoot.....

Than the SAIGA....AK wanna be....very nice for the $$$, mags are available, not as cheap as a AK...plus they do have high caps as well..........I do like my SAIGA 12 ga...

The milled Arsenal AKs are nice. But of all my commie rifles, I think I like my Romanian PSL the most.
