  • Cz-52/57 project

Well guys the longer I wait, the more obvious it becomes I may never get to use these old AK-47 mags I have laying around. Anyone know if it's still legal to convert the 7.62mm x 39mm Czech Cz-52/57 rifle to accept AK-47 magazines in place of the 10 shot mags it normally uses? Was kinda even thinking of putting a rail on the front to use my EOtech and some type of muzzle break and tactical sling.

    Legal?

Yes, it probably is. The thing has a bayonet and threaded barrrel, and was likely imported long before the Sec. 922r crap in 1989. You may want to check to be sure, but my 52/57 has been around a long time (I'm like the 3rd owner).

If I were you, I would convert the AK mag to work in the 52/57. If you butcher the CZ, you'll end up turning a $500-600 rifle into a $200 beater.
Last I checked, the prices are quite high, since you can't een find these things anymore. (the 7.62x45 VZ52 is more common- if you must butcher something, get a $200 version and try it on that first).
