Liquid hitting my face from SKS

I don't know if any of you guys have had this problem, but when I shoot my SKS, there's like drops of oil that kinda spray out while the shell ejects. I'm using wolf ammo btw, but have had no such problem with my AK.

clean the heck out of it. those cosmoline evil. just be glad it didnt hit you in the eye or something.

Sounds like too much oil in it. Put less then a drop on just the sliding surfaces and you won't have the problem.

Clean out ALL the preservative, and you shoul dhave no more oil spray. LIghtly lube the contacting surfaces with grease- a touch is all you need.

Are you sure you have an SKS and not a squirtgun?

It's probably just comsoline sweating out of the stock when the gun gets hot from being fired. I sincerely hope you cleaned the cosmo out of the rifle, especially the bolt assembly. Cosmoline in the bolt assembly can cause the firing pin to stick in the forward position resulting in slam fires. Nothing like having a SKS dump the whole mag in one shot to earn you friends at the range.

I just use brake cleaner to melt the cosmoline off the metal parts. I put the stocks on top of a black garbage bag and place it on the dash of my truck. Wipe it down with a rag every 30 min. or so. When it stops sweating you're done. Clean as per the link. Oh yeah, less is more with the oil.

Less oil is the only thing you have to worry about. Once the cosmo is off, cleaning an SKS is a once a year event.
