    Walmart Ammo......

Well, went to my local Walmart and found what I thought was a reasonably priced case of 100 rounds of .223 55gr Federal cartridges for $39.97. Any thoughts on this ammo?

    1. I have heard that Federal ammo is okay, but not the best. I tried to find PMC but of course, not at Walmart.

    2. How does a Federal cartridge fire? Relatively clean?

    3. Any reliability issues?

Can't say it was perfectly clean but I put a box though mine the other day with zero problems. I went and got a few more, better then umc, didn't have any bad/damaged rounds. Pmc is good, but didn't notice any huge performance change with the federal.

I have fired several 100 rnd boxes of Walmart's Federal value packs w/o a single failure. Not the most accurate but it is reliable

Good stuff. My gun should be sponsored by Walmart ammo.

For the price, it sucks. But if you need some plinking rounds for an upcoming range trip than they'll do the trick. I hate reloading that brass though, its real soft and I have to adjust my dies to properly full size them.

Its not too bad. I was having alot of primer strikes with no bang before I got a new trigger group. The dpms lpk trigger group seemed like it didn't hit it hard enough. Shot 3 boxes of it since with the new trigger group with 0 problems.

its good for plinking and I have used a few thousand rounds over the years. Not the best ammo but its cheap reliable and IMO a better choice then any russian surplus.

In my opinion, federal is the best ammo out there for the price. Re loadable, cheap and its good quality. I've had zero problems with it ever.

It is good for what it is. Inexpensive plinking ammo. I have used several thousand rounds of it and had no issues.

OK, does anyone know of which Walmarts in the Bay Area sell ammo anymore? Milpitas does not nor does Richmond.

Outta maybe 10 boxes fired so far I have found I think 3 rounds with primers in backwards.
                          Otherwise good ammo.

$.40 a round at Wal-Mart or our Federal XM193C $188.00 for 500 rounds = $.376 per round. We have one box left or our Federal XM855F3 62gr for $.43 per round, 300 per box.

Has anybody tried out this ammo from AIM Surplus?

$299.50 for 1000 rounds seems pretty good.
