Question about fixing scratches on new upper

I just got a new Stag 3H upper from Chris at Lanworld (thanks Chris!), and noticed that the barrel is all scratched up. While not that big of a deal, it kind of bums me out. I take a lot of pride in keeping my stuff pristine and blemish free so I was wondering what recommendations you all have to fix it.

Yes, I did search, and found a few posts about repainting barrels and what kind of paint to use. I also saw somebody recommend the Birchwood Casey Flat Super Black touch-up pen. I'm not all that excited about having to repaint a brand new barrel, and I'm not sure if the touch-up pen will look to obvious since there are more than one blemish to cover up in the same area.

Any other ideas, or experiences with the Birchwood Casey pen? This is my first Stag upper, so I don't know if this is indicative of their quality control.

i used the berchwood/casey pens, ! dont! the colors are different, the pen is really black and as i recall on the barrel of stag uppers. they are grey.

try to find another methods, but with that pen, the black mark will stick out.

Ok, I've got some Breakfree CLP, I'll douse the outside of the barrel for a day or two and see how it looks.
