I'm a huge fan of Noveske. I have both the N4 and the N6.
That being said, I'm really impressed with the DD rifles. Great quality, great price.
I've heard LaRue rifles are pretty impressive, but incredibly hard to get in California.

I'd break it down to an ammo budget as well. If you can only have on AR for awhile, I'd do the .223 route vs. the 7.62 route. You'll get a lot more 'bang for your buck' without breaking the bank. I've been seeing some crazy deals on .223 lately.

Edit: Just noticed you already have two DD ARs. Build the N6!
There are some great deals on good glass floating around currently. Jpach turned me on to the SWFA 3-9

Why not go all out and build your own gun. At least that way you know it is done to your specs and if anything goes wrong, you can only blame yourself. Custom is the way to go!

Since you already own two DD weapons then I would suggest a LMT in .308
Yes it is a bit over budget but worth it in my book.

I have nothing but great things to say about mine. I have had it and shot it a LOT and the barrel is still shooting sub MOA with PMC so I can't complain at all. I have no real need of getting match ammo so far with it because cheap M193 shoots so well. I also have their LMOS (Low Mass Operating System) with the buffer and BCG and it really reduces recoil combined with the adjustable gas block, and Bennie Cooley brake. I don't think for 2k you'll find a nicer complete AR-15 style rifle with a better fit and finish.

Others I would recommend to piece together would be your completed lower to whatever spec that may be and:

              Compass Lake Engineering upper
              White Oak Armament upper
              MSTN upper

I was hoping someone would say " get the LWRC, it is the bees-knees!!" so I could justify the cost. Finishing the N6 is probably the responsible thing to do. Maybe I will just drop the gas piston idea for now and build a build a LMT or a Noveske. My DD are awesome but there is still some room in the safe. I need to fill it with guns before the space is occupied by cats.

Knights Armament SR-15 upper on a complete LMT defender lower w/SOPMOD is what i'd do.

                      Ok, you have the best.

Very nice set ups....all of those look pretty damn awesome. (I'm betting they shoot better than they look too.)

It's pretty hard to beat a JP rifle. I have a friend selling an unfired NIB JP CTR-02. PM me if you're interested.

                        I'll get you guys together.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

                          ^^^This or just the LMT

I'd get all the lowers and rifles you want until you have to start registering them maybe hopefully not soon.
