Are you kidding? A Remington 700 for under $350? New? We haven't seen that since Walmart stopped selling firearms here in California. I know, I have been looking. Yes, it is an ADL, and in a semi-odd caliber. But that is a smoking deal on an awesome deer rifle.

Show me one in Cal anywhere near that price.

They are selling .243 at that price too!

Academy is mostly in the Southeast, a couple of weeks ago they had Stevens rifles for <$250.

Whats wrong with 25-06? I have a Ruger MarkII Target model in 25-06 and it is a fast flat projectile. And ammo is readily available at Hillbilly Heaven(bass pro shops)

Nothing is wrong with 25-06. It is a bit harder to find than .30-06 is all. It is a great cartridge for just about everything up through elk. Provided you use the right bullet. I really need to get one to help round out my collection of .25 caliber rifles. (.250 Savage, .257 Robberts, .257 Ackley Improved, .25-35) Then I pretty much only need to get a .25-20 and a few of the assorted .25 magnums...
