Don't you think that same argument goes for 14" 5.56?

The essence of Western civilization is the Magna Carta, not the Magna Mac. The fact that non-Westerners may bite into the later has no implications for their accepting the former.

EDIT 2020: To be fair that seems to apply to many Westerners also.

Make sure that your scope is at least as long as your barrel

considering that my gunsmithing skill are limited is changing muzzle device kit something one can do by himself, or it is gunsmith job?

What tools are required to perform the change?

            Is this the kit?
Brownells has been serving hunters, shooters, and first responders since 1939 and is one of the most trusted suppliers and manufacturers in the World.

IF one would install it, where would you shop for the "standard" front sight?

I'm not looking to shoot this thing out to 400-600 yards. Just want a nice rifle to rebuild my collection that I FOOLISHLY let go when I was younger. I have a 16" AR now, had a Colt Sporter Target Competition in the 90's and I prefer the 16" Mid Length now. But not sure if I should get a .308 in a 16".
I have a springfield Scout (all black) with about 200-300 rounds down range and would considering selling. I upgraded to an all USGI "Smith" built tanker.

I'll be posting this soon so keep your eye out.

That is the kit, but you would also want the SOCOM gas plug.
You can do it yourself with a Gas Lock Front Sight Wrench and simple hand tools.

I suggest that you call SEI (480) 964-1818 and order the complete kit plus the Gas Lock Front Sight Wrench from them.
