trigger Pins?

Okay I'm bored here at work soa questions popped in my head, Why does RRA use larger (.155) pins for their 2-stage triggers? Do other companies use the larger pins for their triggers? why doesn't a standard LPK come with larger trigger pins?

I know of only two trigger/hammer pin sizes - 0.153" for milspec ARs/M16s, and 0.170" for 1990s Colt nonmilitary production. There is a legend, not sure, that the CR6724 'Colt Accurized Rifle' (stainless, bull bbl) uses 0.173" pins for its improved trigger.

I've heard various specs for the regular pins, all being ~0.15X", X = {2...5} with the spec nominally being 0.153"

The thickness of the coating, and any subsequent polishing prob varies the diam. by at least +/-
~0.001"...

Perhaps a 'match' trigger uses a slightly wider pin to avoid any 'slop'...

The .155" pins are tighter in the receiver holes.

CMC drop-in and Geissele triggers also come with slightly oversize pins.

Once they are installed, oversize pins will compress the surrounding receiver metal. If you switch back to a standard trigger with standard diameter pins, the standard pins will be loose in the receiver.

Light peening of the surfaces surrounding the pin holes can be used to reduce their diameter so that they will once again retain standard diameter pins.
