    30rd rebuild body holds 32.....why?

got some metal mag bodies to rebuild two damaged 30rd pre-bans. When I got them together I found that I could very easily fit 32rds of .223 in them. I've heard of guys only loading 28 rounds to help eliminate feeding problems, so i'm wondering if these were manufactured 2 big so that you can load 30 and get the same result. Anyone else had this happen? I'm not sure what brand the mags are as I got them for free from a calgunner.

    Thoughts?

i havent heard of 32rd magazines, but your idea may be correct. i'd load em' up with 32 and see how they function. if so- great, if not- load 30rds and do the same...

Mags for what? IIRC Sten and Uzi mags hold 32 rounds. Check the followers, maybe the new ones are shorter and allow for the 2 extra rounds.

The smart, learn from their own mistakes.
The others, well......they just never learn.

sorry, they're AR mags I use in my SU-16. never heard of 32 round AR mags. The followers are the same as my other ones. When i put the mags next to my other 30rd GI mag bodies, the new ones are a little bigger. It's definitely the mags, i'm just wondering why they would be made so big? is it because of the "2 less than capable to avoid feeding issues" thing? or are they just manufacturing mistakes? they aren't the best looking mag bodies i've seen.....i'll post pics when i find my camera

As long as they feed properly I wouldn't sweat it.

I'm not worried about how many they hold.....hi-cap is hi-cap and these are 100% legit pre-bans being used in a featureless rifle.....I'm just wondering if anyone else has run into the same thing, and if anyone out there has heard of companies that do it for a reason (in which case i might switch some other mags over as well), OR if this is just a manufacturer error that works to my advantage.
