Q: Pinned brake on a threaded barrel

Does a muzzle brake need to be pinned on a featureless rifle in order to be legal? I ask, because I recently purchased a featureless AK with a pinned brake on it.
I put a mag lock and pistol grip on it. If i remove the pin and put on a flash hider, but one day want to reverse everything, will removing the pin hinder the legality?

Only if barrel is <16"

If it is at least 16" WITHOUT the brake/flash hider then you do not have to pin it. The pinning is done when people have 14.5" barrels and then add the brake/hider to get to 16".
