    AR buffer tube question

I am in the process of building a AR15A1. Is there any difference in the A1 and A2 Buffer Tube?

Anyone know where I can get a "retro" true A1 buffer tube?

    I read this on SOCNET:

"All receiver extensions (buffer tubes) for fixed stocks are A1 length. When the A2 came out they just added a spacer to take up the extra 5/8" length."

So, the ones you'll find that say A1/A2 should work? Someone here will know for sure.

They are the same. When used with an A2 stock, you put the spacer in, and use a longer screw. For the A1 stock, no spacer and use a shorter screw.
