SA Gen 4 Mount or Troy Battlerail M14

    Hi everyone,

I wondered what your recommendation would be on whether to get a springfield gen 4 mount or a troy battlerail m14. This would be installed on a springfield m1a scout. If anyone has pictures with either one installed this would help out.

    Thank you!

Steel Gen 4 mount -- haven't put a cope on it yet -- it is WAY more rugged than gen 3 SA mount and attaches more places --

    its on my scout:

if not that. I would get a full rail like the soon to be released Vltor:

Yea, I wanted one of those systems, but they just cost too much.

I bought this cheap chinese rail and it works nicely. It comes with the little piece to replace the stripper clip guide, so you can mount a scope over the action.

I have a Knights Armament Rail on my AR, and I tried comparing the quality between the two. I honestly could not tell much of a difference in build quality.

        Also read this article:

The min thing is, if you just want to mount a scope, get a scope mount. many will allow you to use the factory iron sights if the scope is removed:

but the troy raises the plane higher, and the extra iron sights must be bought, and you will DEFINITELY need to replace your stock with one with an adjustable cheekpiece or strap on a big pad.

If you want his for a forward mounted optic, check out the Ultimak rail as well.

But I would go for a sadlak before a SA g4
