alright have put together a couple cheap ar's and have been wanting to take my time and slowly piece together a decent ar i was lucky enough to pick up a lightly used spikes 16 inch upper, i have been looking at lpk's and wondering what company to go with some say rra, some say armalite, some say they are all the same etc. i have seen some stainless lpk's and thought that seemed like a decent idea but im just not sure... this gun will be a shooter not a wall ornament and not a match rifle either i wont be sitting down at a bench worrying about my breathing and measuring my group patterns with a micrometer..... just want some quality parts that will last and do their intended job. any suggestions would be great also some suppliers that are not going to rip me a new one haha thnx

RRA LPK for $60 shipped. Cheapest i've seen for LPKs and he's also a Calguns member.

When they drop you in the rubber raft out of the submarine's hatch and you paddle it into the breakers during your beach landings, you don't have to worry about the stainless steel internal parts rusting as quickly.Frank

While the stainless won't rust, It is also softer than regular steel. I would think it would wear faster because of this, This is from a machinests stand point. Just FYI gentlemenNRA Life MemberComment

I've installed Timberwolf Stainless lower parts on a few customers guns (at their request). Each one had to have the disconecter filed down in order for the trigger to reset.Valkyrie Arms

I second what valkyrie is saying. I've had to fit the disconnectors on the ones I've installed for customers also.
That said the engagement surfaces were kinda ugly too resulting in "gritty" pulls. I didn't get a chance to play with them after a few hundred/thousand pulls though.
