Which LPK?

Starting my first AR build, and probably my last. So, I'm going for a "decent" middle-of-the road set-up that I'll be happy with.
I'll install the lower parts on my receiver for now and then figure out which full upper I want.
1. Are there any LPK's to stay away from?
2. Which LPK has a good trigger?

I would like to get a lower kit that comes with a decent trigger and splurge more on the upper.

I always hear Stag or RRA. Just ordered my first AR myself, and I bought the Stag lpk.

I've tried LMT, STAG, DPMS, Bushmaster and really cannot say one is better than the other. They all work fine, but I like the finish on the Bushmaster.

RRA 2 stage trigger is the best AR trigger i've ever squeezed. thge takeup is predictable ebverytime and the break is light and crisp.

I have a Daniel defense lpk. When I dry fire it the trigger pull is nice. I have yet to actually shoot it though

Spend the extra cash and buy a Geissele trigger and a dpms parts kit. Throw away the dpms trigger/hammer, or save it for a spare.

This what I've been told. If your looking at your average parts kit. There really isn't that much of a difference. It's not like each company makes their own trigger,springs, hammer etc etc. I got the dpms for 50 bucks. Couldn't see the justification for 25 bucks more for other standard lpk's

I can't stand the roll pins on the DPMS kits. They're so friggin tough to put in that I almost always flare one. The stag, RRA, and whoever makes the WOA parts kits seem to be great.

STAG LPK did not let me down in my first build, no probs, nice fit.

I read somewhere that the DPMS LPK pins aren't true roll pins but more like c pins.
Can anyone try to confirm this?

I used DPMS LPK in last build,and it was C pins for trigger guard/bolt catch pin

Daniel Defense.

DPMS is cheap. They don't check their parts.

Armalite LPKs are good, consistant quality, much better than DPMS.

Yep, i ended up using a CMT/Stag Arms LPK and it was only a few dollars more than the DPMS kit.

Daniel Defense is the best standard LPK. Spend the extra cash for it if its a serious rifle that you may need to trust your life to.

If its just a beater range plinker then get the cheap DPMS or Stag LPK.
