    The follower is different forsure. Spring might be the same, but never really checked.

      But then I handled some PMags at length and WOW. They are a LOT nicer than my old metal mags. They feel better and are quieter.

      To those looking to convert their USGI metal mags over to PMags...

      The only part that is interchangeable between a standard USGI metal mag and a Magpul PMag is the spring. The process goes something like this:

      - Disassemble the USGI mag
      - Use the spring to reassemble the Magpul Pmag
      - At some later time (can be 1 micro-second later) replace the old spring with the one that came with the PMag
